GRID_READ$()

GRID_READ$(N,R,C)

RETURNS THE CONTENT OF THE CELL (R,C) OF THE GRID NUMBER N

ACTION

The function GRID_READ$(N,R,C) returns a string which is the content of the cell defined by (R,C) in the GRID number N.

In a GRID, the first row number and the first column number are 1.

Remark: the keyword GRID_READ$ ends by '$' : it means that the returned value is a string.

SYNTAX: Result$=GRID_READ$(N,R,C)

  • N = system object number (integer or real). Must be greater than 0 and less than or equal to the allowed maximum number of system objects.
  • R = row number (integer or real)
  • C = column number (integer or real)
  • Result$ is a string

USE

  • The function GRID_READ$() is used to read the content of a GRID cell.

ERROR

  • If number N is not a correct expression.
  • If number N exceeds the allowed maximum number of system objects.
  • If number N is less than 0.
  • If system object number N does not exist.
  • If number N is not the number of a system object : GRID.

EXAMPLE

rem create a GRID with its default position and dimensions

grid 1

rem write into cell (2,3)

grid_write 1,2,3,"Hello"

rem print the content of this cell

print grid_read$(1,2,3)
