REMOVES THE EMPTY DIRECTORY D

ACTION

The command RMDIR D removes the directory D. D is the absolute or relative name of the directory.

If D is a relative name, D is supposed to be a sub-directory of the current directory.

The absolute name is the entire name, related to the root of the file system (ex: "c:\temp\files\" or "c:\temp\files").

The relative name is the name of the file related to the current directory (ex: "files").

Remark 1 : D must be an empty directory, without any files.

Remark 2 : the commands DIR_REMOVE and RMDIR have exactly the same effect.

SYNTAX: RMDIR D

  • D = absolute or relative name of the directory.

USE

  • The command RMDIR is used to remove an empty directory.

ERROR

  • If D is not a correct name of directory.

EXAMPLE

rem remove the directory "abcd"

rmdir "abcd"
