CLOSES THE TEXT FILE NUMBER N

ACTION

The command FILE_CLOSE N closes the text file number N which is in use for writing or for reading.

Its number becomes available and can be used to designate another text file to be used.

SYNTAX: FILE_CLOSE N

  • N = text file number (integer or real). Must be greater than 0 and less than or equal to the maximum of allowed text file number.

USE

  • The command FILE_CLOSE is used to close a text file which was in use.

ERROR

  • If number N is not a correct expression.
  • If number N exceeds the maximum of allowed text file number.
  • If number N is not used for an open text file.

EXAMPLE
